Dead bodies wouldn’t be a new sight, but I’m fine keeping your image that of being in a very lively unalive state.

I make no promises not to cause trouble even during times of rest. I don’t know that I can or do, but I like to put nothing past myself.

I’d always rather be prepared than live in ignorance. Precisely for reasons like that. No point in setting one’s self up to be potentially blindsided.

Though for what it’s worth, even if I did ever see you like that, I wouldn’t forget how you look otherwise, either.

It would be extremely useful if dreams worked like that, wouldn’t it?

Too good to be true? They say dreams are the mind's way of working through things. Or processing them.

No, not a bad thing at all. I'm pretty fond of them, in fact.

Something like that. And I've heard that before, that it's all symbolism while your brain figures itself out. Though I also know people who have legitimately prophetic dreams sometimes, and they're just as interpretive.

Me, too. Some of the most interesting people I know welcome a little monster in themselves.

I’ve never found my dreams particularly helpful, and definitely not prophetic. I believe such a power exists, though. Seems as likely as the others I’ve heard about. Not sure I’d want it, though. Just like you said about them being interpretive. I’ll stick with just regular deductions made about the real world.

Definitely real, and hard to manage for those that have them. The usual ones work just fine for personal interpretation without adding in foretelling. Mine all have music, now. Sometimes I think it's some of my Sisters singing somewhere else, too, though I can't confirm that.

Or even more often, deny the man or woman they are is worse than any monster they've read about.

I try hard to avoid having any dreams when I sleep. Let me just close my eyes and open them again and feel like no time has passed. Sometimes it works. Are they pleasant songs at least that you hear?

Most of the time the music is pleasant, or at least neutral enough I hardly really notice it. Sometimes they're not, but I guess being dead doesn't make you immune from nightmares. ...Daymares?

Certainly prevalent in my experience. Then again, it keeps me busy.

I’ve yet to find anything that does make one immune. If I get tired enough I sometimes don't dream, or at least don't recall them, but it’s not foolproof. If I ever do I'll let you know.

That would be nice, to be immune. And I've done lullabies before, and been told they work pretty well, if you'd ever want to try that.

It might be an old purpose but it’s better than lacking one.

The offer’s appreciated, but I don’t really have set sleep times and wouldn’t expect anyone to be at my vocal nightlight beck and call. Have you ever had one of your Sisters try it for you?

Lorelai would sometimes, at the start when I was still adjusting to everything. I think she had a couple times from before, but I honestly can't remember a lot of that too well.

Yeah, that is a benefit. Can't make it work on myself, unfortunately, so I can't get the benefits without one of them around.

In Vegas, before I set out here. We hold a chorus every couple years so we can sing together, and discuss anything important. It was the first one I'd been able to go to since before getting stuck in Denver, though technically they were all coming to me.

More seriously, I’m glad you still get to see them regularly now.

Not everyone can make blood beer. It's a proprietary magical thing, very secret. But we were hosted by the ones that could so we did get to have some drinks.

Ha! You're very funny. It might tempt some of the younger ones, but I don't think the Elders will care much.
