It does mean a lot to him. Not my cane, I mean him embracing himself.
I'm sure he'll be maddening about the chaotic way he practices, but I'm practicing deep breaths and telling myself it's not my place how he goes about it. That he knows what he's doing.
Even if I could create a color coded schedule for him that would maximize his time.
I'm glad to hear that. Truly. I know there is a lot of bullshit in the world but I genuinely hate anyone hiding who they are when it comes to something like that. I get why people do - especially Grisha - but I hate it all the same.
It's Jesper, of course he will. He'll practice all the random things first or the things that interest him the most.
[He's quiet for a moment, remembering that day after he'd floated back to the harbor and watched his brother's body then drift back out to sea. On autopilot, he'd viciously attacked a rich-looking schoolboy leaving Rollins' sweetshop to steal his licorice, money, and trousers. Not to use the trousers, they were too big - no, he'd tossed the trousers in the ocean to stall the boy before he went wailing for help.]
Pickpocketing, I suppose. Though it's very closely tied to the time I started to teach myself finance. The lockpicking came just slightly later on from it, but not by much. They all overlapped.
That makes the most logical sense and seems practical for a little Kaz.
Pyrokinesis and telekinesis were the first two things I learned and practiced. I had... some "anger" issues, apparently which is how the two are usually triggered.
I didn't have actual magic fingers, so finance was the quickest way to power for me. Even if that technically took well over a decade to really make a dent.
Both are useful, at least. I don't have to worry about cold coffee when you're around.

It's what I have done.
