I have no doubt you would. I'd do the same for you, regardless of whether death got tired of me and tossed me back to the land of the living again or not. Of course we'll protect one another. I'll try not to end up on death's door regardless, but if I do, I'll come to you for help with the mending.
I'd say you help with a type of healing that's beyond the physical already, though. I wouldn't discount all the aid you've given through being supportive and inspiring. And trust me, accepting that help was far harder than mending a stubbed toe for me.
I will admit the falling for you part was not planned. Once I did though, I've tried to pick my way into your heart. To make you feel safe and heard, and valued, and one day willing to take a compliment beyond your appearance and inspiration skills.
Just a black hole full of schemes and profits and angles. I just wanna make those sorts of things work for both of us.
[He gives a little nod as he takes a final look around.]
I really do love this library. Yeah, though. Let's go get warm at your place and do some reading. I'm thinking a hot shower and then maybe some hot toddies.
The charity is to help my friends and to spite those who benefit from keeping the oppressed without power.
[Or at least that's the story Kaz sticks with and has for some years now, that all his good deeds are out of spite and not because he sees himself in those who are being taken advantage of that don't deserve it.]
I'm not against you watching, if you really wanted.
[Given sharing would likely mean body parts inevitably touching from the limited space. Which sounds lovely, but not something he can necessarily handle yet.]
[Seeing that look on her face draws him up short, his own eyes darkening with desire. He stares at her lips longer than he should when leaving a place he's just broken into.]
I hope I don't disappoint. Though I'm more excited for my own show of seeing you. Won't even mind if you use up all the hot water, take as long as you like being naked in front of me.
[He grins at that as they hustle out into the cold and towards her place.]
[He's never shared a shower before, or taken one in front of another when it was meant to be romantic rather than cramped jail times. Still, it's Stella. He knows she loves him. That she wants him. This is meant to be fun and pleasurable, and he's doing his best to do what he does best - overthink things.]
I certainly have no desire to eat humans, I find them distasteful enough as it is outside my belly.
Life is shit though, and if I ended up stranded somewhere where the only option to survive was to eat somebody? Depending on the person and circumstance, can't say what I'd do then.

[Even if she hates it.
She packs up the leftovers back into the basket.]
I'd protect you with my life though. Because I will come back from the dead.

[She wants the chance to watch him grow old.]
Do I? I am glad to help, I am yours.

[He gives a final look around to make sure they got everything, then gives a nod at her to see if she's ready, too.]
Best safe I ever picked was your heart, then.

[And he can be frustrating at times. But he is also really sweet to her.]
Was it picked? I feel like it was mostly accidental.

You're really making me think you have a heart afterall.
Ready?

[She slips on her coat]
I am so tempted to suggest we share the shower. I always am tempted.

[She sees how he strives to help kids that could fall through the cracks, and it's not just to make future Dregs members.]
Really? Would you want to watch me? We can have a peep show.

The thought of seeing you naked and wet should probably not be so instantly arousing.

I don't think you could possibly be disappointing.

Do you need my jacket? It's cold out.
no subject
I'm alright. This coat is pretty warm.

Just making certain. I'll eat popsicles but I don't want you turning into one.
[It's a short trip, or they make it one, back to her place.]

[She's awful and she knows it.]
Why do so many of our conversations go back to either oral sex or cannibalism depending on your view?

[She laughs as they make it to her apartment building.]
Door or window?
no subject
I thought we only used the door in cases of emergency?

Good thing I'm not a human.
