He can be hard and cold even with his friends and family, but unless they betray him, he's never threatened to pull the rug out beneath their feet on where they belong in the Dregs. He's never purposely made someone he cares about question whether he values them - he's stumbled in expressing it many times properly, but never deliberately used it as a weapon against them.
