I'm very impressed! Get in actually sleeping in a bed and you might seem to the uninformed observer to be a fully average person. Great for lulling them into a false sense of security.

Tell that to hunters. Or, don't, they'd probably put you on a list.

I'd just let them know putting me on that list was their egos talking. It wouldn't take me off it but it would amuse me.

Does sound like the faces they'd make would be very entertaining. They really don't know how to cope when we're not fitting their narrative and have human friends.

It was a genuinely good effort. I still find sleeping deplorable.

I imagine. Not that I know many vampire hunters, but there are the Drüskelle who hunt Grisha and I know firsthand the indoctrination runs deep. Not easy to break their paradigms.

Yeah, it's unfortunate for them and for us. Wouldn't surprise me if Drüskelle moonlight (ha) as vampire hunters when they have the chance.

It wouldn’t surprise me, either. They barely tolerate anyone who isn’t Fjerdan, let alone someone who’s also different in other ways. Although I have benefitted off some thinking I’m a demon.

Feels like I should get you horns or something, to really complete the look. Make sure they're appropriately scared of you.

You could just act like they’re there, and get puzzled when they claim they can’t see the horns.

Anything that's fun and different, it's a very flexible definition.

Oh, that is good. Either they'll think I've lost it entirely or they'll think I can see into other dimensions or something on top of being scared of you. It'll build my artistic mystique.

I always liked those pictures, I don’t know if there’s a proper art term for it, where the image is meant to show something that is usually hidden? Not hidden messages, I mean something like the image of a human person but the shadow they cast is that of a spider, things like that. Or there’s an image of a person but faintly superimposed over it is something else to imply there’s more than meets the eye when looking at the person. I don’t know if that’s counted as part of surrealism or not.

I think I can survive meeting a few expectations, at least in that area.

There is a word for it but I can't remember what it is. Maybe metaphorical surrealism or something, but I know what you mean. When it comes to art, there's something I always really liked seeing the different little messages it'll have.

Not all expectations are bad, no. Not all are intentionally curated, but still not all are bad.

There’s never a shortage of new things to learn. I know more about art than I do music, but still not an expert. Metaphorical surrealism can work in the meantime, though. You know what artist I think you’d enjoy if you haven’t come across them yet? William Kentridge. I broke into a museum that had one of his exhibits and got to enjoy some of it while there. Never heard of him before that.
