It's unfortunately not possible to account for every inevitably, but narrowing down the option pool does help keep one afloat.

I certainly wouldn’t trade it for anything else, it’s served me well. If I can’t outrun anybody at least I can outthink them.

Security is never something I’d sneeze at. Not that you were, I’m just saying. I'm trying to get Jesper to realize its relevance.

I'd say in many cases, you get further when you can outthink them.

Not all deflection is created equal.

[Is he harsher on Jesper about it than others, yes. Has he only recently realized it when accidentally calling Jesper his brother’s name in a heated fight about not losing another sibling? Maybe. Is he still struggling to figure out how to handle it? Absolutely.]

I only truly appreciated when revenge was at the forefront of my mind and now, it's been so ingrained that I still fall back on it.

Hm, no, it's not but he also has a good group who'll watch his back when he does something questionable.

I can’t say I’ve ever had another option, but I’ve never needed a power greater than my mind.

Though it doesn’t hurt to get underestimated in a fight, either.

Nobody can be there to watch over someone all the time. [As soon as it’s out of his mouth, he knows it’s too true to leave without brushing past it.]

Not to mention the horrible drink concoctions he makes when left unsupervised.

Being underestimated in a fight is enjoyable.

Unless they're a ghost. But also, fair enough.

There was one drink concoction he made that wasn't too bad. It was... drinkable.

It’s very useful.

Most of his drinks are fine. Some though require a stronger stomach constitution than others.

[And while Kaz doesn’t easily get sick, some of them do feel like if he finished he’d be on his ass drunk. He has a perfectly decent alcohol tolerance, but not that good.]
